Colwyn Bay shops website is launched
The latest ATLS website was launched in December 2010 to promote small businesses in the Colwyn Bay area.
All the Little Shops Colwyn encourages shoppers to visit the town and surrounding area as well as buying goods online was launched on December 6 2010.
The site features independent shops and businesses throughout Colwyn Bay, Rhos-on-Sea and Old Colwyn. The website has been designed to allow traders to display and sell their products and services online without the need for a costly e-commerce website.
The project has been created by town centre manager, Ingrid Lewis, together with funding from both Colwyn Bay and Conwy County Council. A steering group made of six businesses involved has also helped push forward the idea.
“Apart from all the great products and services listed online, our All the Little Shops website will feature regular competitions and offers and is sure to be book-marked as a favourite by shoppers,” said Ingrid.
“The development of this site would not have been possible without the support and backing of the Bay of Colwyn Town Council and Conwy County Council and the businesses who freely have given up their time.”
The site allows shoppers to browse through the range of goods and services from the comfort of their own home. Printable promotion vouchers are also available from some businesses giving even more value for money.
Phil Andrews runs Colwyn Pet Shop on Seaview Road and believed the site could only be a good thing for the town.
“I think it’s a good idea. It gives shops and Colwyn Bay a presence on the internet,” he said.
Teresa Carnall runs TBC Marketing on Abergele Road and agreed: “I think it’s a really good idea and it does boost business. Everybody needs a web presence, email marketing and virtual marketing is the way to go, it’s what’s happening now and giving smaller businesses an opportunity to have a strong web presence is fantastic.”
